At Saltbox Aesthetics in Dallas, TX our advanced resurfacing treatment is designed to smooth texture brighten pigment soften lines and support overall skin rejuvenation. To ensure the safest experience and most effective results please follow the guidelines below.
Day of Appointment
Same Day Pre-Treatment
- Arrive with clean, well-moisturized skin. If you arrive with makeup or sunscreen we will provide wipes and face wash for removal.
- Avoid caffeine and alcohol prior to treatment to limit sensitivity.
- Stay hydrated and moisturize the skin well.
- Do not wear contact lenses if intra-ocular shields will be used.
- Wear comfortable clothing if treating body areas.
- Discuss pain management options with your provider prior to starting.
Same Day Post-Treatment
- Expect a warm sunburn like sensation. Redness swelling and sensitivity are normal for up to twenty four to forty eight hours depending on treatment depth.
- Use cold packs as needed in twenty minute intervals to ease heat and swelling.
- Keep the treated area clean and avoid touching.
- Avoid heat sweating exercise and hot water for the remainder of the day.
- Avoid direct sun exposure including sunlight through windows.
- Keep pets away from the treated area and maintain good hygiene including washing hands and cleaning your phone.
- Sleep on a fresh pillowcase.
- Avoid makeup and facial products until the skin has calmed unless your provider approves an occlusive ointment.
- Apply recommended post care products as instructed.
Expected Healing Timeline
Day 1 to 2 (24 to 48 hours)
- Tenderness usually begins to improve.
- Maintain continuous thin coverage with Stratamed until peeling finishes.
- Diluted vinegar soaks may be used two to three times daily if tolerated.
- Mild cleansing may be started if tolerated using EltaMD Enzyme Foaming Cleanser. If cleansing is uncomfortable delay until 48 hours.
- Continue thin even coverage of Stratamed.
- Expect increasing tightness as the coagulated epidermal layer stabilizes.
Day 2 to 3 (48 to 72 hours)
- Cleansing should now be tolerated for most patients using the approved cleanser.
- Skin will feel tight and dry with progressive texture changes.
- Enzyme Gel may be used twice daily after cleansing. Allow the skin to dry before applying Stratamed.
- Juvacure™ Ceramide Cream may be added beneath Stratamed for comfort if dryness becomes significant.
Day 3 to 5 (72 to 120 hours)
- Peeling and sloughing will begin. This may occur slowly and appear patchy.
- Do not pick pull rub or remove peeling skin.
- Continue Stratamed until all peeling is complete.
Day 5 and beyond (after re epithelialization)
- Optional addition: Carboxy CO2 Pro Mask after cleansing.
- Transition to
Juvacure™ HG Factor creme and
Juvacure™ Ceramide Cream.
- Daily physical or mineral SPF is required.
Home Care Instructions
- Occlusion Maintain continuous thin coverage with Stratamed until peeling finishes.
- Cleansing Begin only when tenderness improves. Do not rub. Pat dry.
- Soaks Use 1/2 tsp white vinegar per two cups sterile or distilled water if tolerated. (Tip: Mix solution in a lidded bowl and store in the refrigerator. Each soak, use a clean washcloth. Soak up to 6 times daily.)
- Mask Use Benev Exosome Mask may be used only if there is no stinging or active tenderness.
- Hydration Juvacure™ Ceramide Cream may be added for dryness or tightness.
- Picking Prohibition Do not remove loose skin. Allow it to shed naturally.
- Active Ingredient Restrictions Avoid retinoids acids benzoyl peroxide vitamin C and all exfoliating agents until officially cleared by your provider.

Restrictions
- No makeup until fully healed and cleared by your provider.
- No sun exposure. Avoid heat sweating saunas and steam.
- No facial tools brushes washcloths scrubs cleansing devices or friction of any kind.
Recommended Treatment Frequency
- Deep resurfacing is typically recommended 1 to 2 times a year, with a minimum spacing of 3 to 6 months.
- Lighter resurfacing can be performed about 3 times a year, with at least 6 weeks between sessions.
- For thick or raised scars treatments are usually spaced every 8 weeks.
Expected Results
- Light treatments show full improvement around the 3 month mark.
- Deep treatments show full improvement around the 6 month mark.
When to Contact the Clinic
Contact Saltbox Apothecary immediately for any of the following:
- Increasing pain after initial improvement
- Yellow green or foul smelling drainage
- Expanding redness or streaking
- Fever or chills
- Sudden appearance of dark light or blotchy pigmentation

- Our team will take clinical photographs through our HIPAA compliant system to track your progress and document treatment for medical supervision.
