Evo Micropen Microneedling is a professional treatment that stimulates collagen production and improves skin texture, tone, and overall radiance. Following proper pre- and post-care instructions ensures optimal results and a smooth recovery.

Pre-Care Instructions

• Avoid sunburn, tanning beds, and self-tanners for at least 1 week before treatment.
• Stop using retinoids, retinol, alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs), beta-hydroxy acids (BHAs), or other exfoliating products 3–5 days prior.
• Avoid waxing, injections, and/or laser treatments on the area to be treated for at least 2 weeks prior.
• Notify your provider if you have any active skin infections, cold sores, or recent cosmetic procedures.
  
• Arrive with clean, moisturized skin. Wear SPF. Please avoid wearing makeup (including mascara) to your appointment.

Treatment Day – Post Treatment

• Keep the treated area clean.
• Avoid heat, exercise, and sweating for the rest of the day.
• Avoid sun exposure, including through windows.
• Do not touch the treated area unnecessarily.
• Keep pets away from your face to reduce infection risk.
• Wash your hands frequently and clean your cell phone before use near your face.
• Sleep on a fresh pillowcase the first night.
• Avoid makeup or other facial products for the remainder of the day.
• Apply Exosomes or Exo Balm for up to 6 hours post-treatment, or follow your provider’s instructions.

The Next 5 Days

• Redness, mild swelling, and pinpoint bleeding may occur; this is normal.
• Keep the skin hydrated with gentle moisturizers.
• Avoid scrubbing, exfoliating, or harsh skincare products.
• Continue sun protection with SPF 30+ daily.
• Avoid saunas, hot tubs, and strenuous exercise.

Weeks 1–2

• Maintain strict sun protection to prevent hyperpigmentation.
• Avoid friction or trauma to the treated area (rough fabrics, tight clothing).
• Gradually resume your normal skincare routine only with gentle products.
• Healing may vary by patient; improvements in texture and tone typically continue over several weeks.

What to Expect

• Immediately after treatment: Redness, mild swelling, and a warm sensation.
• First few days: Slight peeling or flaking may occur in some patients.
• 1–2 weeks: Skin may feel smoother and more refreshed.
• Full results: Collagen remodeling continues for 4–6 weeks after treatment.

Additional Notes

If you are ill, develop a severe acne breakout, have a skin infection, cold sore, or an open wound in the area of treatment on the day of your appointment, you must reschedule your treatment.

For cancellations, Saltbox requires 24 hours’ notice to avoid forfeiting deposits or incurring a cancellation fee.

Medical Charting & Treatment Tracking: We will take photos using our HIPAA-compliant software to track your facial movement and evaluate results and progress for each treatment. This process is also required by our medical supervisor when charting on patients.
